Maadi's fashion stronghold Maison du Caire relocates to a new, swankier showroom right in the same neighbourhood!
Maadi can be deceiving, all the glamorous posh-looking people walking around leaves you thinking there's a Chanel outlet on every corner. However, we have reason to believe that their sartorial superiority is due to Maison du Caire’s affection for the upscale neighbourhood in which they reside. Their loyalty to their 'hood is plain to see since they're relocating from Maadi to Maadi!Maison du Cairo, home to Adam Elwan's exquisite jewellery and Nadia Zarkani's brainchild, Nuniz handbags, burst into Egypt's fashion scene with the promising concepts of artistic ingenuity and locally-sourced products crafted by local designers. "Maison du Caire houses local brands by local designers whose work is entirely locally-made, Egyptian craftsmen, locally-sourced material, etc," Maison du Cairo Founder and the designer behind Nuniz, Nadia Zarkani tells us. "It's all about talented designers whose work is unique and who are willing to see their passion through from its earliest stages to production," explains Zarkani. With these two in such close proximity, Maadians have earned their reputation as the city's style darlings. Maison du Caire will see the district's fashion hegemony rise to new heights. At some point, they might even consider separation and declare independence from sweatpants shibshib nation!
